Large, light-flooded modern offices with a view over Leipzig's market square and the Old Town Hall: it has only been a little over a year since Dr. Marco Peisker coordinated the establishment of the new adesso branch in Saxony. He was the first person to accompany the opening of the new office step by step, from the legal requirements to the search for real estate and the recruitment of new employees.

adesso SE is one of the leading medium-sized IT consulting and system integration service providers in Germany. Founded in 1997 at its headquarters in Dortmund, it is now represented in 24 cities in Germany alone and has further companies in Switzerland, Austria, Turkey, Bulgaria, Spain, Hungary and the Netherlands with a total of over 5,000 employees.

The decision to relocate to Leipzig was made in August 2019. "The city has developed really well in recent years. We wanted to get closer to our regional partners and customers. Better relationships with companies can be established locally," explains location manager Dr. Marco Peisker. Leipzig has the best prerequisites, with a highly developed infrastructure and a university landscape that makes it possible to link business and science.

The IT service provider also received support from Invest Region Leipzig GmbH, which helps companies to expand in the Leipzig area and establishes contacts with scientific institutions in particular. For adesso, involvement in teaching and in joint research projects with universities is an important focus, not only with regard to junior staff. Leipzig also scores highly in the area of experienced specialists. According to Dr. Marco Peisker, the recruiting process worked extremely well. There are currently 25 people working at the branch, and the trend is rising. The Leipzig adesso location does not have a sector focus. So far, experts for the insurance, health, public, lottery, Microsoft and SAP sectors have been working there.

"Our company's business model is based on four pillars," explains Dr. Marco Peisker. In addition to established strategy consulting, adesso offers classic management and IT consulting. In addition, there are industry-specific consultants with in-depth specialist, methodological and technical knowledge. Another pillar is software development: "These are either individual software solutions or standard software products covering the entire technological spectrum, which are then tailored to the specific needs of the company," says Peisker. Furthermore, adesso offers classic IT management, which includes the setup and operation of complex data center infrastructures as well as the hosting and support of complete application landscapes.

Even though adesso will continue to grow - a further 20 employees are to be taken on board in Leipzig alone in the course of the year - one thing is certain: the special location in the Leipzig market will remain.
