Largest producer of household appliances in the Middle East, ELARABY GROUP, decides for Leipzig region to enter European market and incorporates ELARABY Germany GmbH in City of Leipzig

“We have been working closely together with Invest Region Leipzig GmbH since the beginning of 2022, now we can finally announce the opening of our Leipzig office in the second half of 2023”, explains Marwan Elkott, the project manager of ELARABY’s expansion to Germany. ELARABY Group is one of the biggest companies in Middle East producing consumer electronics and home appliances such as air conditioners, fridges, washing machines, electric fans and such as well as smaller electronical devices. The group is the Egyptian counterpart to German players as Bosch, Siemens and AEG. To enter the European and especially the German market, ELARABY decided to incorporate its German headquarters in Leipzig.

During several site visits to the Leipzig region during the last two years, ELARABY project team got acquainted with the advantages and prosperous economic climate offered here. “Leipzig provides the optimal combination of qualified workforce, logistic infrastructure, and room for growth, enabling us to gradually deploy our production and logistics for the European market when we start our business here. Speaking of the personal side of the relocation, the city welcomed us with its great international community and offered cultural and leisure activities”, continues Marwan Elkott. The CEO Mohamed Mahmoud Elaraby points out: “We believe in the continued growth of this region and cannot imagine any other place more suitable to quickly grow our business in Germany and Europe. We are very confident in what we do.”

ELARABY Group will orchestrate all sales, procurement, and administrative tasks from the Leipzig office, whilst starting production through the acquisition of a small production company in Brandenburg, approximately 70 km northeast of Leipzig. In the mid-term, the Egyptian family-owned group plans to open further production facilities in the Leipzig region and expand its operations. “We welcome ELARABY Group and highly appreciate that this global and prestigious corporation chose Leipzig as its European headquarters.
