Strong infrastructure in Leipzig as a decision criterion

"Leipzig was at the top of our wish list. The city not only offers a dynamic university landscape, but also an inspiring atmosphere for exciting projects," says Philip Achenbach, the first branch manager in Leipzig at the time and now Head of the Automotive Business Division.

There were several reasons for the decision to expand to Leipzig. The Leipzig region is not only characterised by its geographical and infrastructural strength, the availability of highly qualified specialists was also a decisive advantage for Leipzig. In Leipzig, jambit found a favourable environment that is supported by various universities, particularly those with an IT focus. This creates ideal conditions for the realisation of innovative projects. Qualified employees were found in a relatively short time.

Leipzig as a springboard for careers and innovation

Dr. Gernot Pointner, Standortleiter

Dr Michael Petrifke, team leader at jambit's Leipzig office, acts as a mentor to the young talents in the team and promotes their development through a variety of projects and close cooperation with Leipzig University. "Leipzig not only offers space for individual career paths, but also for creative projects and knowledge exchange. The collaboration with the university creates an inspiring environment for young talent," assures Dr Petrifke.

The experienced software service provider jambit is interested in computer scientists from all disciplines, whether media or business IT specialists, but also career changers with an affinity for IT. "Ambitious people who are passionate about the subject, feel comfortable in the service sector and want to enjoy the variety of projects are important to us. From working students, for whom we also have a certain training mandate, to very experienced colleagues, we have a wide range and mix of employees," says Achenbach, describing the jambit team. The company also attaches great importance to a set-up of further training opportunities so that colleagues can continue to develop.

The road to Leipzig with the support of Invest Region Leipzig

The decision in favour of Leipzig was influenced by the intensive cooperation with Invest Region Leipzig GmbH (IRL). The regional business development organisation supported jambit in its choice of location and arranged numerous contacts. A joint tour of the city also provided an initial insight into the lively city.

"Invest Region Leipzig GmbH not only advised us, but also gave us valuable insights into the city and its potential. The IRL helped us to establish various contacts with landlords, universities, the employment agency and the City of Leipzig/Economic Development Office. As a newcomer, you don't have many developments in the city on your radar at the beginning or don't yet know who you can turn to with which issues. Leipzig has quickly become our creative harbour," explains Achenbach.

jambit today in Leipzig and at other locations

Today, jambit is firmly integrated into Leipzig's corporate landscape and offers customised software solutions across all sectors. Gernot Pointner, the current site manager, focuses on knowledge management and emphasises Leipzig as a learning location.

"Leipzig sees itself as a place of knowledge exchange and experimentation. Initiatives and ideas from employees are valued and encouraged here. Everyone can make a contribution," says Pointner.

The jambit office in Leipzig continues to grow. For Achenbach, Pointner, Dr Petrifke and the entire team, the future is full of exciting challenges and opportunities. Leipzig remains not just a location, but a lively place for innovation, knowledge transfer and individual careers at jambit.

Munich, Stuttgart and Leipzig have now been followed by locations in Erfurt and Jerwean (Armenia). The year 2023 in particular brought strategic changes for the company, as the founders and previous managing directors Peter F. Fellinger and Markus Hartinger handed over the helm to the new management team, consisting of Franz Haßlberger and Thomas Rottach.

We wish the jambit team continued success and are delighted to have accompanied the Leipzig success story!
