Blackfire Medien chooses Leipzig as its new location

Invest Region Leipzig GmbH (IRL) is pleased to announce that the dynamic film production company Blackfire Medien from Dresden has moved to Leipzig. Founded in 2020, the company currently employs 13 people and has chosen Leipzig as its second location.

Why Leipzig?

The decision in favour of Leipzig as the new location was made for several strategic reasons. One of the main factors was the geographical proximity to Dresden, where Blackfire Medien was founded. Many of the company's employees have a personal connection to Leipzig, which further strengthened the decision. In addition, the proximity of the two locations offers numerous synergies that Blackfire Medien would like to utilise in order to work more efficiently and creatively.

Attractive location advantages

As a media centre, Leipzig offers numerous advantages that are of great importance to Blackfire Medien. Its central location makes the city an ideal hub for national and international productions. Leipzig is also known as a growing economic centre and offers a well-developed media infrastructure. There are plenty of skilled workers, studios and technology rental companies in the region, which makes the production of films and media content much easier.

The long-term goals of Blackfire Medien

Blackfire Medien has ambitious plans for the future in Leipzig. The company also wants to provide impetus in the new region and develop innovative approaches to rethink film. Another goal is to build up a 20-strong team in Leipzig to meet the growing demand for creative and high-quality film productions.
