With the establishment of the innovative company HH2E in Borna, a new plant for the production of green hydrogen is being built on the "Goldener Born" industrial and commercial estate in Thierbach in the district of Leipzig, which is set to make a decisive contribution to the energy transition in the region.

The decision in favour of Borna was made due to the good infrastructure and the great potential for renewable energies. Large solar parks have been and are being built in the region.
