Support for hospitals: Successful networking brings medical protective equipment to the Leipzig region
On the morning of May 29, 2020, a Vietnam Airlines cargo plane landed at the Airport Leipzig / Halle - with important goods: medical equipment for the Leipzig region.
The reason of this delivery is based on the cooperation between the Hoa Lam Group, GEDU International GmbH and Sana Kliniken, which emerged from the international partner network of Invest Region Leipzig GmbH.
Last year, the city of Leipzig opened a foreign representative office located in Ho Chi Minh City and managed by the Invest Region Leipzig GmbH.
The mission of the Leipzig office in Southern Vietnamese metropolis is to strengthen economic cooperation between Vietnam and the Leipzig region and to intensify the long-standing, very good partnership. The task of the office is to attract potential investors from Vietnam and the ASEAN countries to the Leipzig region, but also to support the market entry to Vietnam of Leipzig companies.
Shortly after taking of the operations of the Leipzig office in 2019, a first delegation trip by Vietnamese entrepreneurs to Leipzig took place in November of the same year. Clinics in the region were visited and contacts made. This is how Mme. Lam, founder of the Hoa Lam Corporation, which is also active in the healthcare industry, and Cord Meyer, the managing director of Sana Kliniken Leipziger Land GmbH got to know each other personally. In further discussions, the project idea of a procurement platform for medical protective equipment developed through the Hoa Lam Corporation. “This enables us to secure the material inventory in our hospitals even more crisis-proof. If necessary, this procurement channel can also be made available to other clinics and hospitals in the region and beyond,” says Cord Meyer.
Due to the good and trustful cooperation between the Hoa Lam Corporation, GEDU International GmbH and Invest Region Leipzig GmbH, the Vietnamese partners also donated 100,000 breathing masks and around 1,000 Covid 19 test kits to the shareholders of Invest Region Leipzig GmbH.
