Career Networking Night Leipzig Celebrates Successful Debut

At the end of January, Invest Region Leipzig GmbH (IRL) and the Leipzig Campus of the FernUniversität in Hagen launched a joint networking format: the first edition of the Career Networking Night Leipzig brought together FernUniversität students and regional companies committed to sustainable business models at the university’s premises in the Städtisches Kaufhaus.

Innovative companies introduce themselves

Following a keynote speech by Sara Becker-Schröer (Managing Director of infernum, FernUniversität in Hagen) on the topic of “Sustainable Careers,” two innovative regional companies introduced themselves to attendees through short pitches.

Roofeco Solar GmbH & Co. KG, based in Borna, presented its plastic roofing system with integrated photovoltaics, while Leipzig-based RedZinc showcased its remote monitoring solution for automated patient care.

Nils Brauer, Inward Investment Specialist (sector: Life Sciences) at Invest Region Leipzig GmbH, also provided insights into the work of IRL during a presentation.

Focus on personal interaction

The relaxed networking session that followed quickly led to concrete discussions about available job opportunities. Once again, the event highlighted the wide range of attractive career prospects the Leipzig region has to offer — and demonstrated that personal exchange between companies and talents remains irreplaceable.
