Business and Investors’ Reception at the Gewandhaus 2026

Last Thursday, March 5, 2026, the Business and Investors’ Reception hosted by the City of Leipzig, the District of Leipzig, Invest Region Leipzig GmbH and the Gewandhaus zu Leipzig took place for the fifth time. The anniversary edition of the event was once again a great success and offered participants numerous opportunities for exchange and networking.

Newly established companies met established businesses

The program began at 5:30 p.m. with welcoming remarks on the Barlach Level of the Gewandhaus. Following an opening address by Gewandhaus Director Prof. Andreas Schulz, speeches were given by Clemens Schülke (Mayor and Head of Economic Affairs, Labour and Digital Affairs of the City of Leipzig), Henry Graichen (District Administrator of the District of Leipzig), and Michael Körner (Managing Director of Invest Region Leipzig GmbH), who officially opened the subsequent get-together.

We were particularly pleased to welcome newly established companies such as Sportradar, Enertrag, medicalvalues and Roofeco Solar. At the reception, they met numerous companies already based in the region and were able to make valuable contacts. In the run-up to the event, all companies had been given the opportunity to use a matchmaking list to indicate which other companies or organisations they would like to be connected with during the event.

Concert as the grand finale

The evening concluded with the “Grand Concert” by the Gewandhaus Orchestra conducted by Michael Sanderling. The program featured excerpts from the ballet “Cinderella“  by Sergei Prokofiev, the “Concerto in F“ by George Gershwin (performed by star pianist Hélène Grimaud), and the “Enigma Variations“ by Edward Elgar.
